Right to a Fair Trial

Right to a Fair Trial

As we have discussed in all other chapters, the diversified content of human rights can only produce meaningful results if, first and foremost, the procedure to be used in legal proceedings is not used against the individual. The countless victims who have been subjected to criminal proceedings despite the absence of the slightest material proof of guilt, who have lost years of their lives and freedom through unjust measures and punishments, have placed on the shoulders of lawyers the important and serious obligation of defending and fighting for the right to a fair trial. Our duty is, first and foremost, to ensure that our clients enjoy all their formal rights, especially the Criminal Procedure Procedure, in the fairest way possible, and to guard against the habit of administrative authorities, law enforcement or the judiciary to use the penal system as a weapon against the individual.
