Yılmaz Güney family said in their statement, “Famous cinema Artist Cüneyt Arkın was a value that would set an example for every generation with his art, sensitivity, respectful attitude towards different ideas and decent life. We, like all his loved ones, welcomed his departure from us with great sadness. However, even on such a day, the attacks on the spiritual personality of the late Yılmaz Güney following the death of Cüneyt Arkın deeply injured his loved ones and his family. Cüneyt Arkın's words that he refused to receive the Golden Boll award, which was given to cinema artists when he was alive, because it was Yılmaz Güney's right, became a trending topic on social media.
